Geoffrey Alan Rock, English/Canadian artist, 1923 - 2000.

Horse chestnuts will forever remind me of playing Conkers with my brother growing up in Ireland, but this painting depicts a much more regal side to the fruit.

This is a wonderful opportunity to own a shining example of what Geoffrey Rock was best known for: his realism. It strikes the perfect balance between contemporary and traditional, warmth and brightness.

Signed on front, and signed, dated and titled on reverse. Painted on a 9x12” Masonite board, with the frame bringing it up to just over 15x18”.

The frame has some minor dings and has some minor separation between the matting and painting, but absolutely nothing to compromise the integrity of the overall presentation in my opinion.
