Maximilien Sébastien Foy, né le 3 février 1775 à Ham et mort le 28 novembre 1825 à Paris, est un général français du Premier Empire et un homme politique.

"Foy, (le Comte de) Lieutenant général, Grand officier de la Légion dhonneur, naquit détaillant à Villeneuve près Sens; il fut dabord avocat, mais le désir dêtre utile à sa Patrie lui fit abandonner cette carrière pour celle des armes. Il sy fit bientôt remarquer par son courage et ses talents militaires. La gloire quil obtint en Espagne en 1810 contre les Espagnols et les Anglais, ne fit quajouter à celle quil sétait acquise dans les campagnes précédentes. Almeida Burgos, Palencia, et tant dautres champs de bataille attestent assez ses hauts faits. Le rang quil occupe aujourdhui à la Chambre des Députés est la juste récompense de la reconnaissance de ses concitoyens."
